Subject: Edwardian mannequin reproduction
Well this is a way i have done to do an handmade mannequin; feel free to give commentaries, and if you got any ideas to done this job on a better way, i will be so happy to learn.
So this one i used to do was to have a display for antique corsets, does anyone got an idea on an exact year for this early 1900's mannequin?
i had buy a lenght of chiken wire netting, done a tubular form of the maximum lenght equal to the busthips (becareful with the lenghtwise) ,mold the mannequin form (don't try with a living person, i'm not sure an human body will agree!!), then used many stotch lenght like for a carnival mask for the outside, cut a side line in the wire to put over the antique mannequin, closed the side line, then put several plastic bags for the inside and cover with fabric. the original return to is owner with absolutly no damage.
