... PLEASE use the search function to make sure that your question or announcement hasn't been posted yet.
... make sure that your post appears in the correct board. If you're not sure, IM the responsible moderator or one of the admins using the internal messaging system.
... please make sure that your post doesn't violate any copyright laws. So, if your post contains text parts or images that are not your property, add a link to the original source, or, if there is no online version of it, mention it at least. The ideal solution would be though to ask the original author whether you are allowed to post his/her stuff here.
... bear in mind that this is a discussion board. Thus, your posts should induce the reader to reply more than just "yes" or "no" or even worse - nothing. Posting images, links or other material without any further comment won't start a heated discussion so make sure that your posts have some content.
... also keep in mind that starting a thread in order to harm another board member (or even someone who is not a member of this community) won't make the admins or moderators become your best friends. Personal quarrels should be settled elsewhere, not here.
... use the preview function to see whether the images and links are working.
... check your spelling and grammar. Several typos can make it very hard to read your post, especially for those members whose first language is not English. Using punctuation marks is also highly recommended.
