Subject: Just saying hallo, and a couple of questions
Hi tooday after a long time waiting, i got my first corset. It did not feel anyting like i had imagened, but i did love the way i feelt http://www.lingerieshop.dk/lingerie/sortiment/korsetter/24…. i have couple of questions, it is 34",( Im a 38" )  i read somway that you should get your first corset 4" smaller then your waist. But i can tighten it all the way, all the way down to 34" without any discomfort. So the question is should i have bought a  size 30 or would that be to small ?. i had it on for about 6 hours, and when i took it of i notist that my stomach muscles were burning, why ?, is that is it normal ?. I really dont know enought about this yet, I really need to read some more.

BTW http://www.fairygothmother.com/kk-10.htm what kind of corset is this ?, i like the straps and that it goes up. This one is very pricy, does anyone know were anywere i can get one like that to a "better" price ?.
One of my big conserens now is were do i go from here ?, what would be the "normal" approce ?.

Well any comment are wellcome both here and in privat, and I am sorry if i spell kind of funny English is not my first language.

Regards

Hi Morkiehan, and congratulations on your first corset!

Best of all, it sounds as if you lace up more easily than most people. It's true that newbies are encouraged not to lace too tight, but everyone's different. If you feel comfortable going tighter, then do so.

However, the burning is a little worrying. Was the fabric burning you where it rubbed against your skin? It's best to wear something underneath the corset to stop this happening (and to lengthen the life of the corset). Alternatively, ty to build up slowly, just wearing it for a few hours at first.

Most of all, stay aware of how *your* body feels in *your* corset - there's no better guide than that. But I think you know that now!

Am I right about you so far? Here's another thing - you're a woman of great taste to have singled out that particular FGM corset! That's a very original style, and it's not an easy style to make, hence the price.

Now, I have to tell you I'm biased as a custom corsetmaker, but please do not buy that particular corset. To have that style fit properly in the way it fits in the photograph, you'll need it to be made to more than just your waist measurement. Rather than saving up a lot of money for an ill-fitting off-the-rack corset, please consider saving up and having it made to fit you properly. The difference is enormous.

Best wishes! Cathy

There were no discomforts at all when i had it on, but for a minut or so, when i took it of, my stomack muscle burn like after a workout. I had a T-shirt on, so that is not the problem. I will see if it come again.

I had no planes about buy that one, but Im have been thinking about getting one made. I dont even know the prices but im sure it is money well spend, Before i do that i want to wear this one for some time, and getting a new one, that is around 30" so i can "push the limit" alittle.

You got about every thing right, one thing you did get wrong Im a man, NO not TS/TV, just a man. I have know idear how many men does this, but still.

Thanks you very much

Well it is not really a good idea to lace down 4 inches right away in a totally new corset even if your body can handle it the corset needs a breaking in time not to break it in worse case you can destroy a new corset by doing this.  A new corset you should put on and just lace it a bit and wear it for some 2 hours and again next day do the same it takes some hours up to some days to properly brake in a new corset depending on the design and how much reduction. It should slowly mold to your body and be laced a bit more hour by hour or day by day and not 4 inches right away.

Even after this break in period every time you put on your corset you should go slow and let the corset get warm from your body and lace it comfortable wait some 10-20 minutes before you again pull the laces a bit more and so on. I have been tightlacing 23/7 for several years now and it is even more important to go slow when I put on my corset again after a shower etc.

Even if you felt comfortable in the corset the stomach ache afterwards I would say is a sign you laced too tight too fast your body did not have time to adjust and get used to the reduction.
One other reason may also be the blue corset on the pic looks like a vollers so I assume your corset is off the rack and a vollers and maybe does not really fit good. I would suggest if you buy another corset to look for something else insted of a vollers and if you can afford it go for a custom made one.

When you can wear your corset totally closed and feel comfortable both in it and after it is time for a new corset. I would suggest measure your waist in the corset and see how much reduction the corset actually has given you.

Read this how to page for some more information.

Staylace has a lot of useful information also.

i get your point and i appriciat it, but i dont even have to tigth it har or anything and it is not that tight to wear. Maybee i did it wrong to begin with, i measured around me stomack, making sure that I made my stomack ass small ass posible, that measure 38" (95 cm), so i order a 34" corset, thinking that i would have to go slow. But to mig surprise i can go all the way to 34", if i dont go that fare it is not tight at all.

1" is 2.5 cm, maybee that is it.

( sorry about my spelling )

Well we are all different and some can only stand a 2 inch reduction and some can easily lace down 6 inches. I still would suggest you measure your corset and your waist so you are sure it is 4 inches smaller then your natural waist getting the wrong size has happen before. I think you should at least feel a 4 inch = 10 cm reduction.
How much is your waist above your corset when it is laced?

I would say: Don't worry. All things considered you're not lacing down a major percentage of your waist. 4 inches might be a big deal if you're say a 28" waist to start with, but the benefits tend to come much easier to those who start out at a more substantial size and a 4 inch reduction might indeed feel as nothing to you.

Apart from that, as others already said, just listen to your body and remember that if you really want to go down further in your waist-size, get yourself a custom corset. It will be more comfortable and it will last longer.

Indeed! Well done!  :-D

And Roger is right: go slow, be patient, be perseverant (all good qualities that a corset can help cultivate). A good average is about 1/2" per month. It may go quicker in the beginning, but it will eventually slow down. Markus also is right. Proportionally, it is less for you than for someone with a smaller starting waist.

Keep it up!

Im not pushing it at all, it is about 20 %, Im very satisfied with the result. Im starting to feel it in my chest and on my stomac, i cant eat as much, and i cant breath deeply, breathing has become faster.

I just think im surprised at the result already. Is it normal that the stomac mucles burn a little when you take it of ??

In the very beginning when I started tightlacing, when I wore my corset at most four hours a day, there was a little bit of soreness in my belly after I took it off, lasting maybe a minute. That disappeared after the first week. I don't know if I could call it burning.

If you have trouble breathing deeply, if you feel really constricted in the belly, with your appetite reduced that noticeably, I suggest you slack off an inch or two and work your way back down again slowly. I would find such a feeling a bit disconcerting. The proportion of reduction you mentioned, 20%, is pretty substantial for a novice. Then again, as Annalai mentioned, some people can take more than others. I'd say that your body is sending you signals to back off and slow down. That's what I would do if I felt that way.
