Subject: Newbie with a backproblem
Hello everyone,

my name is Misha. As you can probably guess, I am a total newbie in the whole tightlacing business and I am afraid I need some advice. Recently i have purchased and underbust corset, that was not custom made for my measurements and was more of an impulse buy since it looked so pretty and I always wanted a silky, black waspie.

BUT, problem is that few years ago I daily wore for two years a plastic form of corset to correct my scoliosis and lordosis. I am not sure what kind of a corset is therefore 'good' for me now, and where I should get one since I'd probably need some medical-issues related consultation with someone who can evaluate the issues.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially in connection with Denmark.

Cheers!

Hello Mischa
Welcome to the Corset College!

I think an important question is if you have any remaining scoliosis or lordosis?
Some styles of corsets actually give the wearer lordosis  - Most notably the straight-front or S-curve type.
Have you worn your off the rack corset yet? If so did you experience any problems related to your spinal curvature? I'd definitely advise that you get a professionally fitted corset from someone who has experience working with orthopeadic problems.

We should take further discussion of this topic to the medical advice section.
KEEP TIGHT!!!

Hi,

Take a look at staylace the medical advice they have some answers to similar questions but I would suggest you also contact your doctor for advice.

I know some corsetmakers has made corsets for people with scoliosis the only one I can remember the name of right now is this women. I have never seen or tried her corsets myself.

Take a look at this corsetmaker and look under Lissome.

Hello neospastic

Welcome to Corset College. You can always ask your GP or your previous contacts within the medical system. I am from Denmark too. I know other corsetwearer have received endorsements from their GPs for corsets, and/or have worked closely with a corsetmaker, to get corset that suited their medical, as well as their aesthetic requirements.

Due to your medical condition, I strongly advice to have an appointment with a specialist before commencing with tight-lacing.
