  Hello Roger,

   My name is Richard, I'm new and I'm so happy to have found this group.  I'm a straight single male that loves corsets too.  Men’s fashions are dead!! The same old thing and I feel it's time for change, my last lady friend had a thing for corsets so she put in an order for one for me after finding that I had back problems and It did help my back and now I need to learn more so I can order two or three new corsets for my self.  I live in southern California, U.S.A.
and I'm 6'2" tall, and my back is great now.

Hi,

My name is Jennifer.  I started making my own corsets about eight years ago, but didn't start wearing them on a
regular basis until about two years ago (January 2006). Since then, corsets have helped me lose weight, feel better and look better, even without my corset on. I try to keep it on as much as possible, except for work - it would be too distracting... for the others...  ;-)

I have already perused your boards and found a lot of good tips that will help me even more.  I am glad to see that there are others around who take their passion seriously.

Yes, that is a picture of me, in my tightest corset so far.  In fact, only recently have I been able to wear it for any time more than about twenty minutes.  It was an accident - I miscalculated and it wound up two inches tighter than I expected (21 inches).  That was a year ago.  Since then I have slimmed down some, so it is a little easier now. Last August I made the one I am wearing now that is the girth I originally wanted (23 inches) for the one in the picture, a smaller step down from the previous one (which was getting a little long in the tooth).  When this ones gets too comfortable fully closed, I will switch to the one in the picture.  A good indicator to tighten up is when I can pull my belly away from the busk.

My current natural waist is 29 inches, for a height of 5'11" (I am rather tall, but that makes my waist look proportionally smaller).  I am working toward a corsetted size of 20 inches as a reasonable goal, and with my progress, I am optimistic about that.  Anything smaller than that will be a bonus. All in due time!

A side goal is for next year's (2008) Christmas party: I will attend wearing a nice Victorian-style ball gown... Oh, they had beautiful taste back then...

Hello
I am new here of course and we are interested in corsetting.  We have made three corsets so far all mid-bust but now we are looking at making one with shoulder straps to adjust the posture and help with training.

I am a member of a couple of Yahoo Groups and that has been helpful but I think this private forum is much better.

I will post some pictures when I know how. 

Both my husband and I have an interest in corsetting.  It will be nice to develop along with your ideas and suggestions.  Not too much waist reduction too soon but overall training and restriction is best. 

I like the feeling of tightness and hugging.

Subject: Hello...
Hiya everyone,

I just thought I'd introduce myself as requested, I got my first corset back in May this year, it's a 24" long underbust type of affair.  I love the feeling and shape it gives me, my natural waist is 28" so it's by no means "Tight Lacing".

Welcome to the forum, Jenn!

Tightlacing is less an affair of absolute numbers than it is of commitment to wear a corset on a daily basis.  Four inches may be very tight for some people, especially beginners (oh, I know that!), but for others it is not.

If that's a picture of you as your avatar, I agree that it gives you a very nice shape.  My natural waist currently is 28-29 inches and right now wear 23 inches regularly, and working very hard for 20 (the one under the dress in my picture is 21 inches and waiting for its turn - soon!).

And you are right about a corset giving a nice feeling.  I love the snug, all-around contact feeling and the wonderful support it gives.  I miss it when I take it off.

My name is andy. I've been tightlacing for some time, despite my (quite) slim build. At the moment, I'm awaiting a new, 18 inch corset, stuck in that uncomfortable moment between between shipping notification and delivery.
