Hi

There are a few general rules to follow, one of them is that everyone is different and has to train at their own pace so it is quite imnpossible to make a "schedule".

Hi,

The best advice I can give is go slow and comfortable. Do not lace too tight and too fast. I think this is rule number one. Forget all about forced tightlacing with locked corsets and such things if you want to train safely and healthy. Rule number two listen to your body if it feels painful unlace or remove the corset before you get a sore spot or very sore ribs etc. Rule number three have fun and feel special.

Start with wearing your corset comfortable for only some hours and slowly day by day wear it longer times until you feel comfortable the whole day.  For me this process took some weeks and to learn to sleep in my corset also took some weeks before I could be comfortable laced 23/7.
It is better to have a corset on comfortable laced for several hours insted of very tightly laced for just a short time.
Amy at wasp creation has some very good advice read this and also under corset articles.

Here is some more advice I have said about tightlacing. Scroll down to the middle of the page.

This is an excellent summation of the "rules"
All I would like to add is: Take good care of your skin and change your liner every time you lace up.

Its been quite a while since I last "coached" anyone in corset training. I need to keep in practice.
I'm looking for a new trainee. Send a private message if you are interested.

Subject: Hi
I want to start tightlacing :) I am 27 , 5'7'' 130lbs.....

I wear a 34C bra..so 34-35 bust...my ribcage underneath my breasts is exactly 30 inches....My true waist is 27 inches...my hips are 35 inches at the pelvic crests...

I'd like any kind of advice as to what type of corset to buy.

What should be my requirements...what should I be looking for? Underbust ..Over? I want to train my ribs alittle if that is possible I dont thinkit will be hard as I can currently bend/compress my floating ribs with my hand with little difficulty. What type of boning? how long should the corset be??

I also want to get some ideas on what would be a good goal for me ? What size waist should I aspire to that will look dynamic and feminine with out looking too unnatural...

I dont even know what questions to ask yet, but I have been reading up ...any advice is welcomed :) I am going to take my time deciding what corset to buy and I will have to anyway...because they are damn expensive and I will be saving up for a while!!!!!!!!!!

Your reply is too simplistic.
Have you interviewed her to determine her preferences, needs, likes and dislikes?
A statement like "You have need of a Underbust hourglass corset" and a few URLs that anyone can find in 20 seconds with Google, is really no help at all.
It reminds me of Henry Ford's famous statement about the Model T - "You can have any colour you want, as long as its black."

Hey Virtue! I too want to begin tightlacing & I am going to order my first corset next week! I'm getting an underbust hourglass corset as well. I'm starting with this until I decide whether or not I want to train my "floating" ribs or not... I think I might do this with relative ease as well, as I can pull my ribcage in easily, actually independently, without moving any other part of my body. I think perhaps it is a certain muscle that does this?
I've been doing a bit of research on corsets & tightlacing as well...but also on what is considered the ideal ratio of waist to hips for beauty! The information I have found is that 0.7 is the ideal ratio for feminine beauty & health (from front view, does not include buttocks in hip measurement). For those who don't have it naturally, we can get a little help from corsets! :P For your hip measurement of 35 inches, your "ideal" waist measurement would be approx 24", which is a reasonable goal. Personally, I don't like the unnatural look some of these girls get by going as small as 20" or smaller. Beauty's in the eye of the beholder, I guess.
