Subject: Clothes
Hi all,

Does anyone know some seamstress/corsetmaker who mainly makes clothes to go over the corsetted body? I know some corsetmakers offers a skirt but often you also have to buy a corset with the skirt. I only want clothes made from my own measurements and no corset.

Hi annalai,
I could offer you a try on clothes projects.
But first i must told a little
About my job :
i do handmade regulars clothes patterns, from the stylist draw, using 3 industrials clothes bases(foundations) bust/skirt and trousers, made with europeans measurements charts. then i digitalize the pattern onto a proffessional computer program called "gerber" and do all rectifications needed and graduate all asked sizes. i also used to work many years on a firm to sew any kind of prototypes women clothes for customer photos on their catalogues ....
about my hobby:
i still sew and by the way do patterns and mannequins as i loved to create many differents clothes projects for theatre/open air show/private peoples...
I'm also really into corsets as i love that!! you could see few released on this college, i could also show you more examples of my works, simply need your mail adress through mine: spiggymr7(at)free(dot)fr

I'm sure the distance wasn't really a problem as far as i get scrupulous measurements chart from my customer. i could do the 3 customs bases matrix to make any clothes patterns, it's my every day job.

so pearhaps we could go on for a first try. If your body is too unusual i could do a custom mannequin to get refine stuff or if we go on a long cooperation...
Be sure in any way you turn your rechearch, i wish you all the best.

Joëlle

Hi Joëlle,

Ohhh! I love the bolero jacket with the ruffles.
The corset picture: I do like the style and decoration of this corset type. Any particular reason you made so many corsets of the same design?

hi markus,

Thanks for your comment, regarding the bolero in black "popeline" fabric my customer had send the following pic , she wanted the same style without brooch.[Image: http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/3659/stage240bh.jpg]
and it was to go with a dress with ruffles too.

Hi Joëlle,

I just saw your answer and it sounds intresting. Right now I am packing to go away on a small trip so I will get back to you when I have more time. I have too much things to do right now but still I steal a minute or two to look quickly in the groups and this place but too little time to respond better.

I do like the bolero also.
Bye for now.

Ooooh, oooh, oooh!  Where did you get the Gerber software from? I have only found websites who show that they use the software, not the source.

I would love to be able to design my clothing on the comptuer, I think it would give me the push to start making again :)

Annalai:

There's a seamstress based in Munich who makes clothing (maibly skirts) for corseted people. She has only worked with local clients so far but I can contact her if you want me to.

Joëlle:

that bolero jacket is to die for, I'm a sucker for puff sleeves *g*

That shop the corsets are going to doesn't happen to be in Germany, does it? Just asking because a friend of mine told me that you two were launching a little project.

PS: Please PM me about the photos... which mail addy shall I send them to?

Pity about the software, I am about to start making a padded tightly fitting arming jacket called a gambeson, it would have been nice to get it onto my PC to visualise it better. Businesses always get the best toys :(

I love the second corset. I think that even I could wear something as pretty as that and get away with it!

No one would be looking at me though, just the corset, it is that gorgeous :-D

I keep looking at it...
